Shayna Woods has always had a connection with horses. She has been working, training and managing different equine herds for over two decades. She has special interest with horses of trauma and neglect.
Shayna was disciplined in English and Western pleasure. She showed in local open and APHA circuit. She also worked with hackneys and saddlebreds in the ASHBA.
While attending high school, she trained her first horse. PT Snap Crackle Zip, aka Zipster, was trained with the help of a BHC graduate and local horsewoman. Shayna worked with several trainers and barn owners within the community in exchange of reduced board.
Zipster lead the way for Shayna’s career in the equine industry. They showed, trained and gave a few dozen lessons within their time together.

“I felt connected to this horse, like she was a part of me. I trusted her completely.”
Zipster passed away a few days after Shayna discovered she was carrying her second child. Zipster was in perfect health and there was never a known reason, besides possible aneurysm, of the horses death.
She started studying Buch Brenneman, Ray Hunt and John Lyons. Their approach listened to the horse and formed a partnership, much like she had with Zipster.
It was the decision of the heart when she adopted a horse from Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation, located in Pittsville WI. He was started under saddle at Second Chances Horsemanship and mentored at Twin Oak Training Stables.
“I was taught at a young age, there was always someone who knows more than I do. I will forever keep learning”.
She owned him for two years, before a bad colic and 7 days hospitalization couldn’t keep him out of pain.
Shayna’s mission to keep horses safe, comfortable and connected started the day she found herself again, horse-less.
Shayna continued to give lessons, take lessons and ride less experienced horses.

Shayna became certified as an equine professional in EAGALA, perfecting her equine communication and watching the connection between horses and clients.
“ I realized how much the horses gave and expected nothing in return”.
She wanted to help be a voice and advocate for these magnificent animals.
In the summer of 2023, Shayna mentored with Naomi Rutter with Spin to Win Horsemanship. In the fall of 2023, she spent an extended weekend working and learning from Bethany Carlson with Bravehooves. In June 2024, she took an intensive clinic with Stacia Strong to learn and apply the "Balance Through Movement Method" (developed by Celeste-Leilani Lazaris).
She is undergoing a western saddle fitting class with aims to mentor a local saddle fitter (Tina Fox) within the 2025 year. Stay tuned!
She was certified in equine myofascial massage through Therasage EMC (December 2022), EAGALA as an equine professional (June 2022), Triple Moon Healing-Reiki Healing Light Therapy (March 2023-level two), PEMF through Magnawave (October 2023), and nutrition through Angels Animals LLC (November 2023), BTMM Masterclass Membership (June 2024) and Kissing Spines Masterclass (August 2024).

“The key is knowledge and I can only anticipate the doors we will open, together, as the equine community”.
